Official Opening of Glan Usk Primary School
Summerhill Vets were delighted to be invited to attend the Official Opening of Glan Usk Primary School today. Summerhill have been looking after pets for 40 years, many belonging to the children of Glan Usk, their parents and their grandparents before them.
Durham Road Infants and Junior Schools have taught local children since the early 1900s but the facilities were tired and badly in need of updating. The new build for Glan Usk as it is now named since the two schools merged, has been a project for the past 20 years and has seen many hitches along the way. Watching the children today whilst they sang, recited, danced and played music it was wonderful to see their pride in their new school.
The feelings of the children, staff, governors and all who were involved in this tremendous project were summed up in the words ‘we may be in a different building but the family love came with us’.
From all at Summerhill Veterinary Centre we wish you all the very best in your school, the wait was definitely worthwhile – it’s fabulous!
