Troy Story
Troy the chocolate lab thinks he is as hard as nails! In fact so tough that he swallowed a 4 inch nail to prove it!
Whilst having a fence fixed Troy's owners suddenly realised that he had swallowed the nail and rushed him to the vets.
Fortunately for him, both his owners and the vets knew that nails are not part of a labrador's staple diet and steps were taken to remove it!
Radiographs confirmed the presence of the nail and a few minutes later Troy was prepared for surgery. After a few tense moments the nail was duly removed by vet Adam Naylor (yes- that's really his name) and Troy is now on a more conventional diet!
Luckily for his mum and dad, they had the foresight to have Troy insured so the cost to them was minimal. Troy wore a bright red T-shirt whilst recovering from the operation to stop him licking his stitches. His owners are hoping that there won't be a sequel - Troy Story 2!
