Summerhill Vets keeps a well stocked medical and pharmaceutical pet treatments pharmacy, in line with BSAVA and RCVS guidelines.

Your pet's medications are dispensed during consultations and after examination by the veterinary surgeon or after surgery. Your medication will be dispensed at the reception desk.
If you require repeat prescriptions please telephone the surgery in advance so that your pet's medication is ready when you arrive. We aim to fill your prescription within one hour subject to availability of the medication.
Current legislation requires us to carry out regular re-examinations on the health of your pet which will confirm the effectiveness of the medication, the accuracy of the dosage and, importantly, the absence of significant side-effects. Most long-term conditions will require a veterinary re-examination at no more than six-monthly intervals, subject to the judgement of the veterinary surgeon in charge of your pet's case.
Should we not have a product in stock, we can usually source most medical and pharmaceutical treatments within 24 hours. Veterinary Surgeons are now allowed to dispense medications against prescriptions but we must have the original written prescription before we can dispense.
Free of charge delivery can also be arranged for repeat orders of medication and pet food orders in the Newport, South Wales area.
