Monday 27th June, 2011

Hector a two year old ginger cat returned home covered in blood from a wound above the eye where he had been shot by an airgun.

Jill and Carl Difford rushed Hector to the emergency vet at Summerhill Vets, Newport, who set to fixing Hector in a two day stay.

The pellet from the airgun had entered through the top of the head, gone through the eye and ended up in Hector's neck. The vets were amazed but managed to save his life. Hector is now blind in one eye.

Hector isn't the only cat to suffer this, Coco, the family pet of Jenna Lloyd also returned home last Sunday with his leg covered in blood after being shot. Coco was also taken to Summerhill Vets who managed to fix the leg after surgery.
