About Us
Summerhill Veterinary Centre is located in Newport, South Wales and serves the pet owning population of Newport and surrounding areas of South Wales.
An extensive range of veterinary services are offered. The Centre is open long hours for your convenience.
Summerhill Veterinary Centre was established in the late 1960’s by Mrs Jean Morris in the basement of a house adjacent to the current surgery site. It has progressed from a single consulting table in one room, to purpose built premises at 43 Summerhill Avenue.
Along the way the building has been extended three times and in 2005, a derelict site adjacent to the surgery was acquired and now serves as a spacious car park. Gone are the days of parking problems at the vets!
Jamie Allen bought the Practice in 1998 and pursues the practice vision of a personal, caring and affordable veterinary service of a high standard for all our patients in a pleasant and friendly environment. Summerhill Vets now encompasses 8 vets and twenty support staff who are all committed to helping you enjoy the company of your pets. There are extensive facilities on site to deal with virtually any pet.
We are a 24/7 surgery and our staff are available to treat your pet should an emergency arise. Our dedicated veterinary service is enhanced by top of the range in-house laboratory facilities, constantly improving surgical facilities, the latest digital imaging equipment, nurses' clinics, air-conditioned recovery areas and a structured programme of continuing education. We have access to a team of specialist referral vets available should your pet require their assistance.
At Summerhill, we believe in promoting active health care with our clinics run by our enthusiastic and experienced team of veterinary nurses.
We pride ourselves on being a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Approved Practice and continue to meet the criteria required for RCVS Tier 2 and the British Small Animal Veterinary Association standards.
